Palawan Underground River

This is an overdue post...

I went to Palawan last July, as part of my month long vacation in Manila.
There are a lot of blogs written about this beautiful island, and what I will share is just a glimpse of what we experienced. The Underground River is in Puerto Princesa...

Its about an hour boat ride from Sabang Island, where the boats are waiting.
And if you think its long enough, you are sooo wrong!

Because the boat ride is a peek of this beautiful adventure!

The breathtaking view only proves that Palawan is one of the best island not just in the Philippines but in the whole world. And I am really grateful that I have seen these wonder in my own eyes...
God is really good! His creations are perfect!!!

And if you think that it ends there...
then, you have to think again!
because the above photos are just bonus from this trip to one of the longest navigable underground rivers in the world.
Upon reaching the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park which is about 5,000 hectares of well preserved forest, you will have a foretaste of what being so close to nature feels...
The smell of the forest... enjoying the shade of huge trees while walking with monkeys (I mean real monkeys) and  hearing the sound of waves from the sea.
As if nature embraced you tightly :)
.
At the end of this forest path is the cave's entrance....
and again, there is so much more...

Entering the cave is an undescribable feeling.
I had fears because we don't know what might happen inside... accident or something and there is no light... only flashlight provided by boatman.
I was afraid because its underground....
but more than that...
I entertained the feeling of excitement.
.
What is under this underground river?
.
The formations from stalactites and stalagmaites here are known to resemble different images...
I have captured some...
.
As we enter the cave, we were welcomed by
opening - the - curtains like formation ...
giving way to our boat...
.
Not so far from the entrance are the Bat Caves...
where there are "Bat Rooms"...
with "Bat Shits!" :)
.
These figures were said to be crocs...
Hungry crocs!!!
.
This angel - like formation is in the "Cathedral" area, where the highest ceiling of the cave are, and formed a dome. Here, religious images are seen.

The image of
"The Holy Family"
it is located at one of the tallest pillars in the "cathedral".
.
and below,  it's a Unicorn...
.
Next comes the "veggies section"

.
the "Highway 54"
.
The "horror" area ...
as if this is cemetery where cross are marked on the walls.
and a creepy "head of a monster"...
.
some formation seems so real...
and the explanation is up to the viewers interpratation.
.
Upon reaching the end of the tour (but not the end of the cave),
we took a U-turn and had another glance...
There are a lot more to see...
amazing images that are better seen inside than in pictures.
.
The underworld is marvelous...
Another proof of God's mighty hand that is beyond our imagination!
.
.
.
As always, the light at end of the tunnel is something to look forward to...
.
there awaits, Paradise!

27 na si NENE

Parang kailan lang...
.

.
bata at sariwa... masipag at matiyaga :)

.

.
dati rati, wala pang anggulo.

.
.
sa lahat ng ito, piping saksi ako...
mga pagbabago, unti unting nakita sayo.
dati pag nag beach tayo, lagi kang naka-sando...

kita mo shorts mo... hanggang tuhod kahit wala namang tao!

yang mga ganyan, sobrang na miss ko,
ung walang humpay mong pa-picture, kaya laging wala ako!
.

 .
isang taon lang ang lumipas...
naglantad ka na...
and dating back shot, frontal na!

.
.
maraming pangyayari... pagbabagong naganap.

palibhasa'y payat, buto't balat, magaling lumilipad!
kahit san man mapadpad...
tagumpay mo ang aking hangad :)

We love you, Berk!

Post Birthday Post - Ernan

Last Friday, 30th of October, my brother Ernan turned 30!!!
(in his statement. his age stopped from there years ago!)

I started a post but time did not allow me to finish it before his special day...
I was surprised because a day after his birthday, he said “I was looking thru your blog yesterday, I thought you have a birthday blog for me, because you normally do it for people close to your heart.” (giggling)

Well, what happened on that day was a simple celebration.
Our mother sung a happy birthday song for him on the web cam... and the whole family greeted him as well!

Then we went to supermarket to buy food... we cook and prepare...
Just him, Tikang and I. Our bonding moment together... we enjoyed the preparation... the three of us doing things together is something that we miss. That is how we were back home, and it feels good that its happening again.

As I said, it was just a small gathering with close friends... theme - just be yourself :)
Nothing really fab... just on his small place... where friends sang, danced and laugh all night!!!

It feels good to know that everyone enjoyed.
And most of all, the birthday celebrator :)
and I am really happy that he did...

---
this is my unfinished post...

We may be the worst enemies... but we are also the closest buddies.
We are like cats and dogs... guns and roses :)
Nobody understands us the way we do for each other... and nobody can break us apart.

There's no other love like the love for a brother.
There's no other love like the love from a brother.

I am grateful that I have him... he is two in one.
An older brother at times... and a baby brother most often

to be continue on 2010 :)

* * *

by the way... when he asked about my birthday post from him, I told him that he already have one, last year... and its so sweet of him to say that 'he don't know!'
so here you go >>>  FOR MY OLDER BROTHER, ERNAN

All Souls Day

Happy are those
who have died in the Lord.
Let them rest from their labors,
for their good deeds
go with them.

BFF

"Sinong bestfriend mo doon?"

I remember this line from a TV commercial during early 90's... (though I already forgot for which company/brand it is).

But the story, if I am not mistaken is about 2 kids, one's family will be leaving and the other stays...

I feel for that kid. I am the one who left. I was 14y/o when we first moved...
My life turned upside down... even though I know that there are No Goodbyes...

And guess what... Its been 15 years of almost ZERO communication.
Long enough that most of my GS and HS friends are now married and with kids...

And though our path has moved into different places and travelled in opposite directions in the world, the loooooong gap was never a reason to lose the friendship bond.

After some times, through the help of FB, I was able to talk with them again, and the 15 years or moooore was not long enough after all.
We were able to update each other in just one sitting!
Who - What - When - Where - How? Everything started on the first day that we separated.
The connection is something that is wonderful. We still sing the same tune... and though we were not seatmate for a long time, we are still sitting on the same bench... :)

The feeling is amazing!

It's like finding yourself again. Talking to a friend who knows who you were, decades ago... reminding you of those simple happiness... playing around the campus, exchanging notes during recess, and overnight letters as if you were not together for ages.
The gimiks after school hours, eating at our fave resto... ghost haunting... outing on weekends... simple things that shows what it takes to be happy.

Then, there's this flashback... when you're just wondering about this day, while you were just dreaming to be the person that you are now... and what happened in between...

After all this years, I am grateful knowing that we are still friends... and those promises written on those note pads that I've been keeping were all real...

Years passed. It feels sooo good to know that you still have them...
The promise of being Forever Friends was never broken and the answer to the question is still the same...

"Syempre, Ikaw lang!"
