Mommy's Day

This post is for you, my Nanay and to all the mothers out there...

You have the biggest heart to love us unconditionally.
You have the strongest arms that carries the burden of the family.
You have are the richest person we've known for you gave your all to make us happy.

You are the best.
All mothers are the best.
Being a mother is the best.

Thank you for not giving up.

Happy Mother's Day.

This New Year, Let Us Focus on Jesus

Has anyone written their New Years’ resolution? Any do’s and don’ts for 2014?

I have my to-do, and that is to diet and exercise again. I am hoping and determined to lose weight again and I planned to start it this New Year. Yes, I preferred to wait until tomorrow :)
I think this goes to everyone. Each of us has their own plans as the year starts.
Yes. I also have my don’t-do-it-this-time list on my mind; things that I should stop doing. One of those is to sleep late or not having slept at all… (let me try!)

As Christians, I know we should not practice this New Year’s resolution list anymore, we should be living a life pleasing the Lord and not according to this list (the above were just examples).

We look at New Year as start of something new and something great. This is the best time for new endeavors; to step in a new opportunity or challenge. And this is also the perfect time to leave the past behind. Those things that we want to forget; experiences and difficulties that causes us pain. We can all move forward to start anew.

Have a great day, Mom!

Start Your Year Right...

For a believer, life is a growing collection of God stories...

See beyond your vision.

HOW CAN WE BEST LIVE OUT OUR NEW YEAR, 2013?

HOW CAN WE BEST LIVE OUT OUR NEW YEAR, 2013?

Praying that 2013 is a year where we consciously leave a legacy to be proud of; where we put our hand in the hand of God and trust; where we see the results of our trust and have no option but to give joyous praise to the source...

HAVE A BLESSED 2013!
Glory to God.

Ramadan Kareem!

Ramadan (Arabic: رمضان ) is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar.

The word Ramadan comes originally from the word ramd "to burn". The month is spent by Muslims fasting during the daylight hours from dawn to sunset. The name came from before the Islamic calendar creation, when the month of Ramadan started in the summer. Fasting during this month is often thought to symbolically burn away all sins.

Tatay's Girl

I am my Tatay's favorite...
Being the youngest and the only girl, I am the only Tatay's girl!

I am my father's daughter... more than my mother's. My traits are from him.
Aside from the birthmark, there are a lot of my tatay's personalities that I can see in me.
As time passed by, I realized and recognized our similarities...

During first meeting, you will find us snob or quiet or shy :) (really!)
We do not usually join the crowd and chose to stay on small groups.
Our friends are few... yet they are all true. I've seen his peers since I was a kid, and I can see the same set of friends until now. And I hope mine too will last a lifetime like his.

Next is our wit.
He always smiles and makes us laugh. He's a joker. And as I was growing up, I became his side kick... we exchange punch lines! And now that I'm a grown up and he is older, I took the lead, and he is my back up. We love to irritate my nanay with our jokes... We both love to laugh.

We have the same tongue and stomach.
We love eating same types of food, yet he always asks me to eat first and took only what's left from me...

Our patience is long... and our pride is deep.
We seldom get angry and we just keep quiet when we're offended.
I never saw my parents fighting... not that I remember. I know that there are misunderstandings and petty quarrels, but I never heard any arguments. I know my tatay so well. If he is mad, he won't speak to you, until he is ok.

We live by the day...
At first, I took it negatively that he seems to be contented in what we have then... thought that he doesn't dreamt more and just satisfied with what was there... until such time that I was on the same shoes.
Then I understand that it's not that he didn't dream big at all but his dreams for us are bigger that he sacrificed his own. Our lives are his dreams... and he made every single day of it happy as happy as it could.

Making this post is like revealing a part of my personality...
I should stop now to keep some mystery :)

But I want to shout to the whole world that...
I am grateful, I am so proud, I am happy and I am blessed being my Tatay's daughter...

Nanay's Day Masterpiece

It's almost 2 hours since I started composing this blog...
Had about 5 drafts of poems, and almost finished 1, but I was never satisfied.
I kept on praying... asking for His guidance as I write...
Several attempts of creating the best piece for Nanay... but I just cant.

Then I stood up, took my cup and made coffee...
I kept squeezing my brain as I walk along the hallway, hoping that some great idea will pop out;
While waiting for the water to boil, I embraced the silence, took a deep breath and listen to what my heart says...

Then I realized that in as much as I wanted to compose a masterpiece for Nanay's day,
It will never happen.

The greatest gift that my heart desires is far beyond these words...
Not a thousand stanzas of poem or a novel about mother will fulfill my longing...
Because more than anything, I want to hug her today.

No words can express how much I love her...
And how much I am missing her...

I love you so much Nay...

and so with my other Nanays:
Ditse, Sanse, Ninang, Tita Neng, Tita Elsa, Tita Alice, Tita Ine and Mama Ric
Praise God for your lives... I love you.

Happy Birthday Tatay

Wala na akong mahihiling pa...
dahil
IKAW
ang
TATAY KO!!!

I love you sooo much, Tay!

Love Love Love

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Today is all about love.

This morning, I found this chocolate heart and a note on my desk...

Sweet, isn't it?
NOPE!!! Its not from my admirer... :) :) :)
It's from "The Management"... though I was expecting a different gift from them!!! (lol)
I do appreciate the management's simple way of reaching out to everyone and expressing their compassion.

And after an hour and half, a delivery boy handed to me these...

Ooops! You're wrong again...
These are from our Travel agents. Their way of saying thank you for the business :)

Love is really in the air...
And it is not only for couples...
Love day is for everyone who knows how to love.

Earlier, I spoke with my cousin, who is currently on the process of legal separation with her hubby. They have decided to put an end to their marriage at young age. Admittedly. she is sad, not because of the annulment but, just because...
When I told her that there are many reasons to be happy, she said: "I know girl.. hehe.. minsan lang (sometimes) I just cant help but get sad... like today.. everyone seems to be happy celebrating... ako (I) nothing to celebrate..."
It's because her 'single' friends were out on a date and she felt alone...
I reminded her that there are a lot of reasons to be happy...

And being single will never be a hindrance to celebrate the day of  love!
As long as we are willing to share love to others and willing to receive others' love...
Valentine's day will always be special day and that everyday can be a Valentine's day.

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
John 13:34-35

HAPPY 2010

LOVE, PEACE & HAPPINESS!!!
A Blessed 2010 to everyone :)

Belated

Two occasions on the opposite side of the world.

Thanksgiving in the US... Eid Al Adha in the Middle East.
Both celebrations are spiritual... basically dwells on gratitude.

In US, it is the time of giving thanks to God for the many blessings...
In ME, it is the commemoration of obeying God, willingness to follow by the traditional offering of sacrifices...

Our world today may be considered fatal... crisis is now covering the earth.
Yet, despite all the trials, the war, the disasters, plagues around the world...
Praise God for tradition of Thanksgiving and Eid... because during these days... even for once, both the Muslim and Christians were together, being grateful to our Lord God.

And in these difficult times, gratitude reminds that God is good!

When we dont know what to do, when all our best efforts seems to be no effort... gratitude reminds us of our purpose... that we cannot do things alone, unless we seek for God's help, unless we are willing to obey, only then that our efforts will have effects...

When we are down and discouraged, when we think that everything is useless... gratitude empowers us with joy and give us reasons for hope.... it tells us that, Yes! Indeed we are blessed! It reminds us that we can all be well... we just have to have faith...

True thanksgiving means that we need to thank God for what He has done for us, and not to tell Him what we have done for Him.

I know I am quite late... but still, I am thankful... :)

27 na si NENE

Parang kailan lang...
.

.
bata at sariwa... masipag at matiyaga :)

.

.
dati rati, wala pang anggulo.

.
.
sa lahat ng ito, piping saksi ako...
mga pagbabago, unti unting nakita sayo.
dati pag nag beach tayo, lagi kang naka-sando...

kita mo shorts mo... hanggang tuhod kahit wala namang tao!

yang mga ganyan, sobrang na miss ko,
ung walang humpay mong pa-picture, kaya laging wala ako!
.

 .
isang taon lang ang lumipas...
naglantad ka na...
and dating back shot, frontal na!

.
.
maraming pangyayari... pagbabagong naganap.

palibhasa'y payat, buto't balat, magaling lumilipad!
kahit san man mapadpad...
tagumpay mo ang aking hangad :)

We love you, Berk!

Post Birthday Post - Ernan

Last Friday, 30th of October, my brother Ernan turned 30!!!
(in his statement. his age stopped from there years ago!)

I started a post but time did not allow me to finish it before his special day...
I was surprised because a day after his birthday, he said “I was looking thru your blog yesterday, I thought you have a birthday blog for me, because you normally do it for people close to your heart.” (giggling)

Well, what happened on that day was a simple celebration.
Our mother sung a happy birthday song for him on the web cam... and the whole family greeted him as well!

Then we went to supermarket to buy food... we cook and prepare...
Just him, Tikang and I. Our bonding moment together... we enjoyed the preparation... the three of us doing things together is something that we miss. That is how we were back home, and it feels good that its happening again.

As I said, it was just a small gathering with close friends... theme - just be yourself :)
Nothing really fab... just on his small place... where friends sang, danced and laugh all night!!!

It feels good to know that everyone enjoyed.
And most of all, the birthday celebrator :)
and I am really happy that he did...

---
this is my unfinished post...

We may be the worst enemies... but we are also the closest buddies.
We are like cats and dogs... guns and roses :)
Nobody understands us the way we do for each other... and nobody can break us apart.

There's no other love like the love for a brother.
There's no other love like the love from a brother.

I am grateful that I have him... he is two in one.
An older brother at times... and a baby brother most often

to be continue on 2010 :)

* * *

by the way... when he asked about my birthday post from him, I told him that he already have one, last year... and its so sweet of him to say that 'he don't know!'
so here you go >>>  FOR MY OLDER BROTHER, ERNAN

All Souls Day

Happy are those
who have died in the Lord.
Let them rest from their labors,
for their good deeds
go with them.

Revelations 14:13

Another Special Day

It's already becoming a series :)
and I realized that most of the special people in my life were born on BER months!
---

My friend is celebrating her birthday!
She is my soul mate...
My bestest friend and enemy in one.

Usually, opposite attracts.
but to us, its the opposite of that :)

For the many years that we've been together,
we have shared common dreams.
We might have different points of view,
but we know that we are on the same ship.
There were ups and downs,
and together, we endure the pain and enjoy the victory.

Tested by times.
Hardened by storms.
Sharpened by joy.

We may be apart.
But we have a common heart.

I love you.
I am always here :)
