Ramadan Kareem!
Ramadan (Arabic: رمضان ) is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar.
The word Ramadan comes originally from the word ramd "to burn". The month is spent by Muslims fasting during the daylight hours from dawn to sunset. The name came from before the Islamic calendar creation, when the month of Ramadan started in the summer. Fasting during this month is often thought to symbolically burn away all sins.

Hello!
Sorry for not posting for quite some time...
Sorry for not posting for quite some time...
December, as always is the busiest month of the year.
And it rolled double for me... adjusting to my new boss and living in our new home :)
Actually, we had some holidays, but of course, I won't spend it sitting all day in front of computer to write... sorry, but I also have a life :)
but then again, I am here to share some with you...
Eid Al Adha passed... we had 4 straight days off :)
and it was all well spent.
Not the same as how we celebrate before. No out of DXB trips... No shopping... No Malling!!!
Instead, we had simple hang out with our new found family... we attended to our newChristian church in Sharjah and enjoyed exploring the new place where we live.
(Qanat Al Qasba - Sharjah)
It was more of having quality time... to rest, relax and pause for a while.
(Buhaira Corniche - Sharjah)
This new world is totally the opposite of what we had in Dubai.
Yes, this is the "worst - traffic" destination in the UAE, but it is nothing compared to the peaceful life that we are enjoying.
-
2nd December - the UAE 38th National Day. It's celebrated all over the Emirates.
Sharjah, of course is one of them, and for the first time, we were able to witness the fun.

Last year, I shared with you how I admire the Emirati for their patriotism during the 37th UAE National Day. And this year, I was there on the street, watching these people celebrating their country's Independence... looking at these proud and happy people waving their flag as high as they could.
-The above events are not new to me, the only difference is that this year, it gave me a new meaning.
I may be stuck in traffic once in a while... far from huge malls and world's largest... but the life that I am living is greater than before.
We are now far from the race track, where time runs fast, and leave unnoticed.
I have found happiness through these moments, and I finally have a new home...

Two occasions on the opposite side of the world.
Thanksgiving in the US... Eid Al Adha in the Middle East.
Both celebrations are spiritual... basically dwells on gratitude.
In US, it is the time of giving thanks to God for the many blessings...
In ME, it is the commemoration of obeying God, willingness to follow by the traditional offering of sacrifices...
Our world today may be considered fatal... crisis is now covering the earth.
Yet, despite all the trials, the war, the disasters, plagues around the world...
Praise God for tradition of Thanksgiving and Eid... because during these days... even for once, both the Muslim and Christians were together, being grateful to our Lord God.
And in these difficult times, gratitude reminds that God is good!
When we dont know what to do, when all our best efforts seems to be no effort... gratitude reminds us of our purpose... that we cannot do things alone, unless we seek for God's help, unless we are willing to obey, only then that our efforts will have effects...
When we are down and discouraged, when we think that everything is useless... gratitude empowers us with joy and give us reasons for hope.... it tells us that, Yes! Indeed we are blessed! It reminds us that we can all be well... we just have to have faith...
True thanksgiving means that we need to thank God for what He has done for us, and not to tell Him what we have done for Him.
I know I am quite late... but still, I am thankful... :)

Eid Al Fitr
and so the holiday symbolises the breaking of the fasting period.
It is celebrated starting on the first day of the Islamic month of Shawwal and upon sighting of the new crescent moon which signals the end of the Holy Month of Ramadan.

WoW! Its my 3rd year of celebrating Eid here in the UAE :)
It seems like yesterday, when I first saw BAGONG BUWAN (new crescent moon which signals the end of the Holy Month of Ramadan)...
and here I am again, joining the Muslim people in commemorating this joyous occasion.
Yes. I am joining them, not for the long weekend... but in prayers... and in faith...
This is the best time to give thanks... to forgive... to be healed... to share love and spread peace.
And isnt it even non-muslims can do it?
We can all join them.
Christians and Muslims can always be united in prayers...
I am sure that we are all hoping for peace.
To have a better world where our children and grand children can enjoy their freedom.
Together, we are hoping for an economic stability, that we can live life with less pressure.
We are all praying for happiness... for ourselves and our family.
Everybody wants a life without an enemy. nobody loves war... it only happens when people were not treated fairly...
We are both calling God, maybe in different names, but what's important is that we have faith in Him.
We may be divided through different teachings... language... customs and traditions, but still,we share the same world... we have the same hope... we pray with all our faith and we know there is God that listens.

It is a joyous occasion for all Muslims.
It is a time when Muslims give thanks for the blessings they have received from Allah, celebrated the victory of the forces of good over evil, and forgive their neighbours for old grudges and ill feelings. It is also a time for spreading peace, sharing with others and giving thanks for completing another period of fasting for the month of Ramadan.

EID MUBARAK!
Post Birthday Post
10 days ago, I walked into my last stage of twenties...

my 2nd celebration away from home.
we had a simple dinner, which were prepared by my partner and godson...
and very special people in my life came... my family here in dubai.
same as the usual party that we have, it was fun and filled with laughter.
there were no new faces that night... its the same us...
having a good time... celebrating life!
compared to last year, there were so many blessings to count...
and having a 29 candles is not enough to name each one.
ok! maybe i can share... 29 of them:
1. I was still able to celebrate the day that I was born... meaning I am still alive :)
2. I still manage to see the sunshine and feel the heat of summer... meaning I am still healthy.
3. I blew my candles at 12:01AM... meaning I was able to start my special day that early and happy.
4. My friends came over that night as well... meaning I have sweet and loving friends.
5. And I had an awesome sleep after... having a comfortable bed... and a place to stay.
6. I called my nanay and tatay, to thank them for the life and love that they gave... I still have them around.
7. I was able to have a chat conversation with my nephews and niece and they expressed their love through that... I have a beautiful family.
8. Friends and officemates sent greetings... means they remembered me on my day.
9. My aunties, uncles and cousins extended their greetings... means I have a loving relatives.
10. I had a tons of workload in the office that day... means I still have my job.
11. I gave pancit to 2 other pinoy officemates... means I have enough to share.
12. I had a fight with the taxi driver (who is so rude, as always) on my way to Ericson's place... meaning I still have some money for the taxi fare.
13. When I arrived at Kawakeb (our ancestral home here in Dubai), Erika and Ericson were so busy preparing the food... there are food.
14. And there are loving persons who prepared.
15. Then, they surprised me with a wall full of photos... showing that I lived a happy life.
16. Together with those photos are messages from different people, friends and family... I am loved.
17. As we are having party, the room was place was filled with fun and laughter... I can still enjoy life.
18. I have a beautiful life ahead of me to celebrate...
19. And I am grateful for that.
20. The party ended the next morning, around 5AM... it went through happily, and nothing wrong happened.
21. We all went home... safely.
22. And still, we have a home.
23. And Erika has been with me still.
24. I had a good night rest that night/morning... I have peace of mind.
25. And as I woke up the next afternoon, my journey to 30 started... I have hope.
26. The least that I can do to thank the Lord for everything is to pray... I still know how.
27. And the connection with Him is still there... I have my faith.
28. I am blessed and I know that I am.
29. Because I love my Lord and I know that HE feels the same... and even more.

Kamikaze - the Bomber
As most people celebrated Labor Day with rallies and demonstrations in different parts of the world last Friday...

there is Fun Fair Festival at the corniche of DFC...

as we were walking, temptations and challenges begun...
as lovely as these lights are the rides for the young adults...

NOT for us!!!
the BOMBER!

and while you are UP, it will suddenly stop...
We, the "bagong bayani" (OFW) from Dubai welcomes this day with self-pampering activities. After a whole day of shopping at the Dubai Outlet Mall, we went to DFC (Dubai Festival Center) for our dinner and to add some thrill to our not so very expensive lifestyle.

there is Fun Fair Festival at the corniche of DFC...
and these lights are too attractive to resists.

the mini - carnival just reminded us of the PERYA back home. it has couple of rides for kids, young adults and the young at hearts, just like us...
- for kiddos -

amusement games and adorable prizes

as we were walking, temptations and challenges begun...
token booths are everywhere! dare is in the air!!!

as lovely as these lights are the rides for the young adults...
as we were walking around, our hearts keeps on pounding!!!
excited looking for the biggest challenge that we will face!
.
.
.
these next rides are just for - young adults...

NOT for us!!!
and so, we went on...
walking... checking...
and whhhhooooooowwwwwwww!!!
somebody just said, this is it! lets all ride in there!
-
-
-
the BOMBER!
it's as tall as a building... seats are just on opposite ends.
.
.
.
honestly, my hearts beats faster... i suddenly feel cold and freezing.
my feet sweat and so with my hands...
.

"uhhhmmm... im still nervous, i dont think i can do it!"
.
"we just had dinner... we might throw up!"
.
"its not safe... its not covered!!!"
.
"OMG... i can pay your salary double.. just dont ask me... i'll pay for your token!"
.
"NOOOO! this is it! lets go...."
.
.
those are the words i heard after watching how the BOMBER works...
.
.
.
"hmmm... can we first have a warm up???"
.
.
.
OK... warm up!
.
.
.
there in KAMIKAZE!!!
.
.
.
.
.
this is just a mini Bomber!

smaller version... just half of the height of the bomber..
and you are in a lot safer, since the seats are inside a "cage"
but...
it works just as the same as the Bomber...
it swings... until you turned upside down!!!

and while you are UP, it will suddenly stop... so you can enjoy the view from the top!

and yes, that was indeed a good WARM UP!!!
___
and after that... we were all screwed up!
