This New Year, Let Us Focus on Jesus

Has anyone written their New Years’ resolution? Any do’s and don’ts for 2014?

I have my to-do, and that is to diet and exercise again. I am hoping and determined to lose weight again and I planned to start it this New Year. Yes, I preferred to wait until tomorrow :)
I think this goes to everyone. Each of us has their own plans as the year starts.
Yes. I also have my don’t-do-it-this-time list on my mind; things that I should stop doing. One of those is to sleep late or not having slept at all… (let me try!)

As Christians, I know we should not practice this New Year’s resolution list anymore, we should be living a life pleasing the Lord and not according to this list (the above were just examples).

We look at New Year as start of something new and something great. This is the best time for new endeavors; to step in a new opportunity or challenge. And this is also the perfect time to leave the past behind. Those things that we want to forget; experiences and difficulties that causes us pain. We can all move forward to start anew.

Start Your Year Right...

For a believer, life is a growing collection of God stories...

See beyond your vision.

HOW CAN WE BEST LIVE OUT OUR NEW YEAR, 2013?

HOW CAN WE BEST LIVE OUT OUR NEW YEAR, 2013?

Praying that 2013 is a year where we consciously leave a legacy to be proud of; where we put our hand in the hand of God and trust; where we see the results of our trust and have no option but to give joyous praise to the source...

HAVE A BLESSED 2013!
Glory to God.

A Whole New World

For most of us, the start of the year is the best time to initiate changes within... we write and compose our  New Year's resolutions, set new goals, and redefine our own purposes.

It ignites the fire of our determination to move forward and look beyond... and see new opportunities to live life to the fullest...

Rekindling our passions and establishing our aspirations...

This is New Year... jumps start for a better us.

Yearly, we are listing new resolutions. How long are those? Have we accomplished anything from that list? Did we quit our bad habits and begun to live happier? Do we feel better now?

Yes, there is the whole 2010 to look forward for our improvement. But before we know it, it's the year end again... we don't have forever... there is so little time!
Weeks will pass unnoticed and the pages of our calendar will be cleared sooner than we think...
And in the end, our life is just the same...

We cannot waste time on doing less important things... failures should never be our reason to stop dreaming. Trials were given for us to keep on fighting, and feel the sweet victory in the end... because we are not here to lose.

There are so many marvelous things to enjoy.
God has created a wonderful world and He wants us to experience it...
We should leave the shadow of darkness and negative thoughts that holds us from enjoying this beautiful life. Why are we going to deprive ourselves?

Now is the best time to think things over. We may never have the same opportunity again...
If there are things to be settled, fix it today.
You want to change some bad behavior, do something.
Aren't you happy with your work? Start to rediscover your passion.
Have you hurt someone's feelings? Express your apology.
Have you failed to remind your loved ones how much you love them? Say it now.
Do you wish to travel somewhere? Finalize it.

There are things that we do only once in our lifetime... conversations that will take place only once. Encounters with some people that will only happen one time, and many opportunities will pass our way only once...

Just don't delay.
We don't have to wait for another New Year's Eve to reflect...
Act now and start building a whole new world :)

"Walk in the way your God has commanded you,
so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess."
Deuteronomy 5:33

HAPPY 2010

LOVE, PEACE & HAPPINESS!!!
A Blessed 2010 to everyone :)

DUBAI: silent countdown

same as anybody else around the world, me & my friends prepared well for the new year's eve celebration. its been weeks of discussion where to go, which restaurant is the best, where we can enjoy the view of the grand fireworks as before. the reservations were almost fully booked...

finally, after several days of inquiries... we have decided to go to the same place where we were last year (2007-2008). i can say one of the best, since we have the view of Burj Al Arab, the only 7-Star hotel in world. a perfect not so loud nor discreet crowd that was there before.

erika found the number... and reserved.

then came 31 December, all prepared. we still went to the office, yet kept our fingers crossed that it will be another half day of work, same as 24 December.

then the BA#$%^&NG!
its not yet midnight, but an explosion of news came in...

Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, ordered the cancellation of all forms of celebrations marking the New Year in Dubai emirate, as an act of solidarity with the Palestinian people.
whhooooh! what a blast!

then, my phone rang several times. my friends were asking... confirming... and thinking what else to do???

too late to prepare for a dinner at home!!! and the reservation...

then, the work continued. lunch time came... no announcement yet.
it will be a long day. since the celebration was cancelled... why do we need to leave early???

ok. fine. this is it.
6PM. ding!!! time to go and prepare.

we still went to the restaurant... nothing can break the plan...with a little hope that the countdown will still give a thrill!

then we arrived. the place was still loaded. people still gathered. long tables on the restaurants... families were together. children on their best dress... all the same new year's eve.
just dont try to ask for loud music. its a fine dining set up... alcohols were available just inside the resto... and if you wish to drink outside, starbucks coffee will do :)

we had the best, year end dinner. more than the food... we ended the year together, with the special people in our lives. 6 of us. sharing our dreams for the coming year and analyzing what went wrong for the past year... & so on.

then, its almost midnight. we were rushing for the "countdown" outside.
it was soooo cold. a foggy cold silent night.

we passed at starbucks to have some latte...
then went out at the ampitheater of madinat jumeirah...
almost all the people did the same...
for what??? maybe that's the way it should be...

outside, fog embraced us... it covered the view.
all you can see was the big christmas tree, as if floating in the air.
10. 9. 8. 7. 6. 5. 4. 3. 2...happy new year :)

instead of fireworks... people greeted each other.
hugs... kisses... love was all around us!
as if everybody knew each other.
everybody is smiling... happy... full of hope...

one night, 2 different years.
one closes and another begun.
it was different. i grew up in the fireworks capital of the Philippines (Bulacan) where really loud fire crackers were lit during the eve... it was totally a different experience.

being part of the protest againsts the war that now killed more than 500 people...
the new year celebration that we had this year was more meaningful to me.

i am thankful that i was somehow able to give my little share with what is happening in Palestine & Gaza... that night, we prayed for them... and realize that while most are celebrating... some people had just lost their homes, or even their love ones, or even their own lives.

most of us has been trying to think of ways to improve ourselves for the coming year... some spent hours regretting things that they did and didnt do on the past year... new years resolution for ourselves... plans... project... self.
all about us.

the year that was (2008) brought many tragedies. records of crime... disaster... financial downfall... a history of its own.

and the beginning of the year gives a new hope for everybody.
not just for you & for me... but everybody deserves to be happy.

the year that was...

my 2008 was totally a struggle.
and i am thankful that somehow, i am surviving.

world crisis cant stop us from believing that 2009 will be a greater year.

as this chapter of history ends, 2008 shared much to everyone.
good and most are not so good.
different things that changed someones life...

we cant even imagine how we were able to overcome those.
but its all over now.
those that seemed impossible before are now part of our past.
written in the pages of our history...
hard to believe but its actually over - solved - finished - kalas!

and in the peak of this crisis...
fears and worries keeps on bothering us.
dont be troubled by those... 2008 is tough, yet we survived :)

the New Year marks another beginning.
a new hope that tells us not to give up.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

congratulations for surpassing 2008...
and all the best for 2009!

cheers!

How will you welcome 2009?

seems simple...
but most people at present situation have a deeper thoughts on these...
not even listed on these choices -------->

what about you?
