Hearing Sleigh Bells

Have you heard that ting-a-ling-ling these days?
The season of happy songs from the happy heart and happy souls is finally here.
We'll I haven't heard any Christmas carols on this side of the planet but the ting-a-ling-ling-ting-ting-a-ling-dong is buzzing on my ears... in my mind and in my heart.

Just as the cool breeze embraced me every morning as I walk, are the many Christmas memories that hugs me all the way and makes my day happier.
As if I can hear the beat of the little drums made out of milk cans with plastic on top... and the sleigh bells made of bottle crowns... kids singing the same Christmas carols every night, with those improvised instruments and looking forward to the gift or the money that people will give (which they usually save for the Big day).
The smile on their faces, the thank you song that they sang for the gift that you have given to them are priceless... and that experience, from being a caroler to becoming the giver is a lifetime happy memory that will forever put a smile in our hearts.

That simple act from the kids, going in front of your doorsteps, singing songs and making your Christmas experience happier just reminded me of how Our Savior has knocked on the doors of our hearts and offered an eternal happiness in our life.

The joy of hearing the Christmas carols is nothing compared to the joy of listening to His Words.
Not like the kids that somehow expects gifts from us; He is the One who has brought something for us - the gift of faith, hope and love.

Can you imagine the face of the angels while singing 'thank you' not for the gift that we gave but for accepting the Gift that God has given to us?

In these busy season of giving, it is more important that we learn the real reason for the season....
at the time when we thought that we have given all the best that we can and did everything that we can do to make this occasion wonderful...

But what's important specially on this season is for us to receive...

There is A Special Gift that we should open; the greatest gift that we often overlooked during the festivity...
The Gift that many refused to take...

The Child that was born...
So that we can have the life -- and have it to the full.

She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”
Matthew 1:21
