What are you wearing today?

When was the last time you visited the mall?
Have you seen the lastest collection from your favorite boutique, or you already had one?

Red tags and signages are all around the malls here in Dubai as the end of the Dubai Shopping Festival... finishing all the stocks before the launching of the new collection...

In the fancy world where I move, with the walking manequins that I can see everyday with the most expensive bags and shoes that they wear... it makes me think whether these people get satisfied ever, with what they have?

Here in the office, while walking along corridor, some people will look at you as if they are security officer checking whether you have bombs under your shirt... or as if they are computing your 'value' for what you have, from head to foot.

And with this set up, admittedly, it makes me feel inconfident sometimes... thinking that I should have something too, just to meet up with what was 'in' in our world... and at times, to feel competent and secure (esp. in their eyes).

As human being, that is one of the weaknesses that is so difficult to resists - being conscious with how people look at you. Being so sensitive to what they will say about you and what do they think of you as a person.
We tend to project... and sometimes, to pretend that we are somebody... act as if we are one of them...

We are cautious not just with our looks, but on how we act, to avoid negative things that they can say about us... We tend to like the scent that they wear or love the music that they play... even if it causes us headache! just so we can be with the trend...

But are we really are in the same level? Do we really need to level with the standards of the people around you? Why do people tend to measure what others have?

There are these people who keeps to on bragging about things that they acquire, and sometimes, even if they still don't have it... they tend to elevate theirselves, telling who they are and what they do. People who look down on other people and keep on praising theirselves alone.

Does what you have and who you are in society and what you do in the company really matters in this life?
Are we being measured through our bank accounts and number of our twitter followers? Is being a receptionist really afar from the managing director?

Riches can be counted not by how much you take but by how much you are willing to give...
It is not how many friends you have but its how deep your friendship are...
Hierachy of job role is not measured just by the position, but by the work done and how it heps improve one's life...

There is no measurement for who are rich or poor... no one can point who are in or out...
In this fancy world where we are living, material things corrupted the minds and hardened the heart of the people. We tend to judge what is good and not, according to our standards... we set the level and categories of people... we classify them, according to 'what' they have.

But in reality, and in what it should be... all are equal.
No one is greater than the other, in the same thing that no one is below another one...

We are equally created, equally loved, equally blessed.
The difference is how we count and value the blessings that we have.

The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart. - 1 Samuel 16:7
