Music and Me

I love to sing.

I can sing all day with the magic sing. I know a lot of videoke songs.
I love music.
I can survive all day without TV, but please, I need music.

I am a frustrated singer...
It's not that I'm out of tune; because I know the tones so well...
But I do not have the voice -- of a singer.
My voice is flat... that's the big problem!

Many years ago... as in 16 years ago, when I had my very first guitar.
Yes. I am a musician too...
OK! Frustrated musician...
I bought a guitar hoping that I can learn how to play; and luckily, I did.
One song and the only song that I learned back then!
The Green Green Grass of Home = D-A-G-A
Oh and by the way... I wasn't able to play the whole song :)) ever!

Until the day that my guitar was broken by our neighbor...
I never learn how to play.

Time passed...

Whenever I see a guitar, there's this spark... as if seeing my first love over and over again.
Yes. That's exactly how I feel... and when I play it (and I literally mean play with it, since I can't play a single song), the sound coming from those chords and piece of wood gives me a bliss.

Recently, me and my first love had another chance to be together again...

Our dearest Pastor gave it to me. With hope and prayers that one day I will learn how to strum and play a song. This is one of the best gifts I have received... And coming from the person who means so much to me, I was inspired to learn again.

I am taking one step -- or rather, one chord and a time...
Little by little, I was able to play... one stanza, one chorus, one song.

In His Time...
My first song played... after a decade and a half...
And the first complete song played... ever!
Indeed, He makes all things beautiful, in His time...

Now, its been 3 weeks that I am playing guitar for our Praise and Worship in our Bible Study.
I am so grateful that He gave me chance to play music for Him. I have never learned any songs then,
but as I play Christian songs, coming from the heart... my spirit is filled with joy.
Thank God, my BS family are so understanding and supportive :) I am learning with them...

I am not good yet.
I can say, I am on my nursery level when it comes to playing. Most of the time, I am still out of tune.
But I am determined to learn. I do not dream being a pro... All I want is to do good, by giving my best, to sing a song of praise...

Me and my first love, playing for the Greatest Love...

I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.
Philippians 4:13
