It was fast and had many loops... high and low days... straight and curved...
As I was browsing over my desk planner, I noticed many red marks and sad faces on it... many things happened... and those are NOT just ordinary incidents...
Now, I realized that its not just another roller coaster ride with thrill and excitement.
But October is indeed a month of surprises.
A box of chocolate...
This month, the suspense was not on the loops but on the shapes and the flavors that I got from the past weeks.
For the first week, I had chocolate with almonds.
The sweet and salty 7 days in Phils. with my family... though the almond on the center of it was quite hard and difficult to chew, since Nanay was hospitalized. But being with them and knowing that Jesus is our Greatest Healer, the difficult times were covered with creamy chocolate that makes every bite of life more scrumptious
Week after that, was cookies and cream.
Coping up in the office with one week backlog plus home sickness... my passion for work are the milk chocolates that are poured out to the bits of cookies which are bitter - loneliness. And together, they make life yummy and delightful.
Then I had a taste of dark chocolate.
When I witnessed the painful experience of someone who was pulled out from his comfort zone. A bitter realization that everything is temporary and no one except Him knows what tomorrow really meant.
Just like pure cocoa on these dark chocolates, so are the lessons that were stated directly on my face. Hard to chew, bitter in taste but knowing that everything happens for His reasons and His glory alone, chocolates, no matter how dark it seems, will always be chocolates.
Finally on the 4th week, I had Eclairs.
A mouthwatering experience of God's love and care. Aside from the busy month end in the office, our small business just had a huge challenge... being overloaded with work for the week, yummy eclairs are prepared, bite size, ready anytime for chewing. Just like Him who are always there, no matter how busy life may be, Eclairs it will always give that lip smacking chocolate loaded candy.
And since October 2010 had 5 Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays that happens only once in 823 years...
There's another one left on the box...
The fifth weekdend, a memorable weekend of feast and fellowship as we celebrated the Feast of Tabernacle on the final week of the month. A morning of worship, giving back all the glory to Him alone. An opportunity to give thanks, to sing praise and glorify His name.
Indeed, life is a box of chocolates... with different sizes, different flavors, different shapes. It always gives surprises, no matter what color it is... and the taste vary, depending on the person who is taking it...
Some love it sweet, others want it pure and dark, while some prefered the white bar...
No matter what it is... we all know that in every bite, there's a chocolate in it.
So as in our life... no matter how sweet, how salty, how hard the cover or the center... we know that for everything, there is a reason... and that in every bite, God is with us, helping us to understand why some are bitter and some are not.
You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
Psalm 16:11
We may not understand why things are not on the right shape all the time...
Yet we are assured that His right hand is the One molding our chocolates and putting it on lovely packages...
