Love Love Love

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Today is all about love.

This morning, I found this chocolate heart and a note on my desk...

Sweet, isn't it?
NOPE!!! Its not from my admirer... :) :) :)
It's from "The Management"... though I was expecting a different gift from them!!! (lol)
I do appreciate the management's simple way of reaching out to everyone and expressing their compassion.

And after an hour and half, a delivery boy handed to me these...

Ooops! You're wrong again...
These are from our Travel agents. Their way of saying thank you for the business :)

Love is really in the air...
And it is not only for couples...
Love day is for everyone who knows how to love.

Earlier, I spoke with my cousin, who is currently on the process of legal separation with her hubby. They have decided to put an end to their marriage at young age. Admittedly. she is sad, not because of the annulment but, just because...
When I told her that there are many reasons to be happy, she said: "I know girl.. hehe.. minsan lang (sometimes) I just cant help but get sad... like today.. everyone seems to be happy celebrating... ako (I) nothing to celebrate..."
It's because her 'single' friends were out on a date and she felt alone...
I reminded her that there are a lot of reasons to be happy...

And being single will never be a hindrance to celebrate the day of  love!
As long as we are willing to share love to others and willing to receive others' love...
Valentine's day will always be special day and that everyday can be a Valentine's day.

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
John 13:34-35

Mi-Ser-Able

From the recent Forwarded Messages blog - Why Some People Have All The Luck  some commented another question - Why others becomes miserable?

Now, I am seeking answers...

In the blog, there are (4) Tips to be Lucky:

1) Listen to your gut instincts - they are normally right
2) Be open to new experiences and breaking your normal routine
3) Spend a few moments each day remembering things that went well
4) Visualize yourself being lucky before an important meeting or telephone call.

All psychological.

Remembering "The Secret" - the power of mind; the law of attraction.
YOU are the master of your destiny.

1) Listen to your instincts!!! - your instinct actually depends on what you think will happen or rather, those that you want to happen.
2) Be open to new experiences... - because unless you allow your mind to move on, you will be locked forever on your comfort zone.
3) Spend few moments each day remembering things that went well. - happy thoughts!!!
4) Visualize yourself being lucky... - think positive +

Indeed, it all sums up to "The Secret" :)

And why others becomes miserable???

As seen on this blog's title, I tried to  look at the word... and tried to look at some words within the word.

Mi - Ser - Able

Mi - I
Ser - To be;
Able - Fit; adapted; suitable
(meanings from wikipedia)

From these words' meanings, and its like: I am to be fit or to be suitable...

And maybe, that is what others forget, since its mixed up; we tend to disregard the importance of having a clear mind... and that we are TO BE  SUITABLE.

(does it make sense?) I hope so...

Personally, I believe that things happened not because of luck,  but because of how we believe.
It doesn't only depend on how good we are, but on how deep our faith is.
Not just what our mind dictates, but it's what our heart says...

Thinking that all will be well is a plus factor; but our heart has the major role.

"As it is written; 'No eyes has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him." - 1 Corinthian 2:9

Month-End

I posted "Akalain mo bang last day na ng January?" (Would you believe,  its already the end of January?) on my Facebook status...

And got different feedbacks... others, just like me, were also surprised!
Days passed really fast!!! 1st month of 2010 just ended.
One friend mentioned the bills... yup! If you're like her, TAKE NOTE! It's month - end already, and you just have 5 day grace period to settle the bills. Another friend, who is leaving, just counted the few remaining days left, before saying goodbye... While one friend just came back from an out of town coverage :)

Different reactions... as the month closes.
Each of us has our own month end issues.
My cousin Janice (whom I now call Month-end) is a CPA and every end of month, her life turns upside down :) with all the accountings etc etc. And I can imagine her everytime I pass by our Finance Department on month ends...
As they audit debit and credit and check and balance and count and compute... lol!

And though we are not accountants... we too should have some balance sheets to monitor.
Not just our bills that will soon be due... but as an employee, a friend, a daughter/son, a mother/father, a sister/brother, and a child of God.

What did you do in the past 31 days of this month?

In your job, were deadlines met? Were you able to deliver what was expected from us? Did you excel? Where you productive? Did you ever compliment your staff with all the works that they've done?
Have you reach out for a friend? Did you time to spend with them, even on the phone, on FB, on YM?
What about your family? Did you even say hello to them this month? At home, did you hug your mom and dad? Have you asked your siblings how are they? Your children? Have you heard their stories from school? What are their new interest?

And last, but not the least, as a child of God... have you ever say thank you for letting you had this month? For still seeing the sun rise every morning... having that job to finance the expenses... being a friend to someone and having someone as a friend... and having a family and being loved unconditionally...?

We had 31 days this January... have you touched someone's life?
Were you able to make someone smile?

It might be to fast... but still, each day had passed, and we can never bring it back.

In accounts, we may be negative this month...
We may have lost some earnings on the investments that we did not make...
But, we are blessed for standing still. Head up as we welcome the February.
After the auditing... We can still move forward and do something to make up...

Not everyone is as lucky as we are as we look forward to the coming month, or even day...

Some days were ended before the month ends... some company closes before the month closes... some lost a friend and even loved ones... others had broken relationships...
Haiti disaster is a reminder that indeed, we are really blessed for being here.

Time is gold... it is pricesless.
We should invest it well...

"Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom."
Psalm 90:12

Prayer Power

"There are thoughts which are prayers...
There are moments when, whatever the posture of the body, the soul is on its knees."   -Victor  Hugo

Have you ever experience that?
When there are no other things in your mind, but prayers...
Either giving thanks and praise or asking for strength and relief...
Or just simply wanting to be on His feet... talking with Him in silence.

In one article, I read about Paul's teaching on Thanksgiving and Prayer (Ephesians 1:15-23).

He prayed that people will be given the Spirit of Knowledge to know God better.
For people to experience in their lives the power that raised Jesus from the dead.
He prayed that God would strengthen them by Spirit in their inner being.
He talked about worship and submission in terms of Spirit.
And to let the Spirit use God's words in their lives and encouraged them to 'pray in Spirit.'

Paul demonstrates the importance of seeking God in prayer... showing us that prayer, worship, submission and the word of God are crucial in releasing the Spirit's Power in our lives.

There is one more "prayer lesson" that I can never forget. I learned this from my religion class from grade school....
How we should pray, remembering others... with fingers as guide:

Thumb, as nearest to the heart, stands for the people who are close to our hearts...
Index, or the pointing finger, are like those who teach, they may be our teachers, pastors, trainors... pray for those people.
Middle, as the tallest are the leaders, our boss, head of our team, government officials... people that leads.
Third, being the weakest, reminds us for those who are sick... we should never forget to pray for them.
Finally, the Little finger, which is ourselves...

Physically, do you experience goose bumps when you pray? Cold air embraces you, while you are talking to Him... Tears unconciously flow from your eyes... Do you feel the lightness from deep within after you surrender you worries? Do you feel relieved?

And even if we don't say anything; when we simply call on His name and our heart sing praises...
He will hold you close...

That is the magic of prayers...

For me, its like a button that when I switched on, it will automatically remove all my tensions and fears.
At times when I am feeling disturbed and stressed, a seconds of silence will give me peace.
One click and I'll feel comfortable again :)
Because I know that He listens and I feel that He cares.

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
Philippians 4:6-7

Lord, Please Hear Our Prayers

Lord, please take away the sadness. We are hurting. We are weary.
There are days we cannot remember what joy felt like.
Our hearts have been broken. We sometimes wonder if you really care ...
and if you are really there. We are not sure how much we can bear.
So, in our sadness we pray,
"Father, restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me."

Lord, please take away the fear. There's so much happening that we don't understand.
We struggle with the uncertainty. We struggle to find confidence.
We are looking for reasons for hope. So, in our times of fear we pray,
"Father, walk with us and hold us in Your strong hands."

Lord, please take away the anger. We are not by nature angry people.
But, there are times when the anger waits just beneath the surface to erupt at just the wrong moment.
We don't want that anger to take root in our hearts. We want to let go of it and harbor no resentment.
We want to forgive. So, in our anger we prayer,
"Father, forgive us as we forgive those who have sinned against us."

Lord, please take away the hurt. The hurts ... well, they hurt.
The hurt seems to never end. Pain is all around us.
Not just us, but people all around us are crying for relief.
So in our times of hurting we pray for Your healing hand to rest upon us,
and to feel Your comforting Spirit within us, and that someday we might understand.

Lord, take away the loneliness. There are times when loneliness almost completely overwhelms us.
We long for love. We know You are always with us. We know your love is real.
So, in our loneliness we pray, "Fill us, Lord, with Your presence."

Lord, thank you for meeting us in prayer until we come home to you and meet you face to face.
We surrender everything to you, Father... In Jesus' name, we pray.
Amen.

Counting Apples

Anyone can count the seeds of an apple...
But only God can count the apples in a seed.
-o0o-

We are all geniuses... experts in our own fields.
We have mastered our crafts.
We know what we know...
and we should distinguish what we don't...

We have grown into our different professions...
We have succeeded with our own careers...
But we should always remember that it's not just because of us.

We've seen the fruit of our labor; the results of our hardwork...
Our wings were wide open, we have fly high enough.
Yet do we recognize how we manage to take off before we reach the sky?

Counting apples from the tree is as easy as ABC.
Like reckoning our blessings, from the simplest to the best... as simple as 123.
But do we understand that beyond the soil, sun and water that helps the trees grow and produce fruits... it is the Creator who made it possible?
We may have achieved our greatest dreams... not just because we are good and smart... but our God has blessed us with His mercy and love.

"Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails."
